Dear IPAW 2006 attendees / provenance challenge participants, One of the things requested and discussed at the Washington provenance challenge workshop was a way to understand or share the terminology used by different provenance-related systems. To start this in an easy way, we suggested each team put their key terminology up on the TWiki and then indicate where they thought their terms were synonymous with those put up by other people. http://twiki.ipaw.info/bin/view/Challenge/Terminology Southampton and Utah have started on this, so please have a look at our pages for examples. On the Southampton page, I've put a couple of examples of possible synonyms (see the definitions of Provenance and Provenance Queries). This is not connected to the challenge, and we have suggested no deadline, but it would be a useful resource if people contribute. Any suggestions of improving it are also welcome! Thanks, Simon
